HOW DOES ARTIST ARMOR PROTECT YOU?

1. WATERMARKS YOUR WORK

  • We add a small, semi-transparent AA watermark and place it in a hard-to-crop area without ruining the composition.

  • By showing the artwork has originated from Artist Armor, the thief will know that a proper chain of title has been proven and they will be identified as the thief.

2. POST LOW-RESOLUTION IMAGES ONLINE

  • The preview image is uploaded at 72 dpi images at reduced size (e.g., 1000px or less). And the full resolution art product isn’t revealed until a purchase is made.

  • This makes it harder to print or use commercially.

3. DISABLE RIGHT-CLICK + SAVE (ON WEBSITES)

  • We use a script to prevent right-click saving.

  • This doesn’t stop all theft (screenshots exist), but adds complications when trying to utilize the art. Oftentimes that extra make-work step itself is enough to deter thieves.

4. ENGAGE IN A DOCUMENTED MESSAGE THREAD

  • By engaging through our system, each interaction is tracked and documented to show the interaction, intention and purpose of the sale. This is important because an impartial third party has documented this, and neither party can edit or rescind a comment like you can on several social media sites.

  • This is paramount for use in litigation should the need arise.

5. INCLUDE A COPYRIGHT NOTICE

  • Each upload will display your copyright notice with your name. Example: `©2025 Your Name. All Rights Reserved.`

  • This reinforces your rights and deters misuse and screen grabbing.

6. WATERMARK METADATA

  • Creator info (IPTC/XMP metadata) is embedded in the image file. Some thieves can strip metadata, but it helps in disputes.

7. CHUNKING (FUTURE FEATURE) COMING LATE 2025

  • Instead of sending your entire image to a browser in one go, we break it into tiny, unreadable pieces—think of it like cutting a photo into dozens of puzzle pieces. These chunks are then carefully reassembled using secure code that only works in your browser window. To anyone else—even someone poking around in developer tools—these fragments are meaningless on their own.
